    Investigator Turned Business Owner Credits Triton for Helping Achieve Career Goals

    Tony Quintana has 10-plus years of experience as an investigator working for the Cook County Sherriff’s Department and now thrives in the private sector with his own business, OnQ Protection and Investigation Services. Quintana served as a Department of Homeland Security-ICE Investigator where he won the DHS-ICE Career Connection Mentoring Award. He is a licensed private detective and security contractor by the State of Illinois and is affiliated with the National Council of Investigation and Security Services (NCISS), the Chicago Forensic Group (Chi4n6) and the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), among others.

    In addition to his professional accomplishments, Quintana volunteers his time with Cornerstone Community Outreach, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the homeless, and also serves on the Triton College Alumni Council.

    Quintana is a 2004 graduate of Triton College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration.

    What have been some obstacles you’ve had to overcome in pursuit of your educational and career goals?
    I have been fortunate in that I have not experienced many obstacles in pursuit of my educational and career goals.

    What have been some sources of inspiration both in your career and in your life?
    My sources of inspiration to be a better man are two people: my father and grandfather.

    What would you consider your strong suit to be – whether skills or qualities?
    My strong suit is that I am goal driven and I am also a people person.

    How has Triton College impacted your life?
    Triton has given me the tools to accomplish my goals and continue to help others.

    What advice would you give someone who would like to pursue a career in your field?
    My advice to individuals interested in pursuing a career in criminal justice administration is to believe and you will succeed.

    What are your words of wisdom for current Triton students?
    My words of wisdom for current Triton students are to exercise the following: Wisdom – Obedience – Nobility – Gratitude.

    What are your plans for the future?
    My plans for the future are to continue to grow my business in helping others.
